Steve Monroe was born in Southern California and raised mostly in Washington state. With his parents separated at just 3 years of age, Steve moved up and down the West Coast, back and forth from Mom to Dad. With all the shuffling around, Steve eventually attended eight elementary and three junior high schools before settling into four years of high school in Tumwater, Washington.

Steve quickly became comfortable being the "new kid" in a room full of strangers. Making other kids laugh was the quickest way to connect with his new classmates, but not so much for the teachers. Being around Mom and Dad one at a time, he also developed a good connection and balance between his masculine and feminine sides.

After high school, Steve moved back to Southern California for college. While getting his education, Steve bartended and honed his skills of connecting with individuals and groups. Eventually, college lead to the corporate world and it was here that he was fired from a computer tech job for his "ongoing antics." He made the ultimate decision to find work as a comic, to be applauded not reprimanded, paid not punished, for just being himself. Steve has used these life lessons to carry his observations about life to the stage and quickly connect with his audiences on many levels.

Within a couple years, Steve was traveling up and down that familiar West Coast performing in various comedy venues, achieving his goal of getting paid to make others laugh. Steve has now been featuring and headlining comedy clubs, casinos and competitions for over a decade.

Today, Steve's act has him performing all over the country, taking control of the stage and using his connecting skills to quickly work big and small crowds into a fun frenzy.
